New Works generally consist:
Decomissioning of a Chemical Plant
Works were completed in May 2009 and involved the decomissioning of the exisitng Celenese Chemical Plant. Substantial demolition was undertaken as well as extensive Groundwater & Soil Remediation.
On Site Works
Works consisted of the Construction of 1.5km of new highway and a 100m long two span steel bridge over the River Derwent. Extensive Earthworks, ecological Mitigation and the provision of new services were also required.
Section 278 A6/A511 Junction
Access to the development is via the new A6/A5111 Junction under Contract with the Highways Agency. This very complicated junction required the construction of over 40,000m² of new highway as well as a 50m long two span Steel Overbridge. Substanial Service Diversion works were also undertaken.
